B.Arch admission process takes place only through entrance exams and not through merit basis. Aspirants can take admissions to the college through entrance exams like NATA, JEE or any other valid and recognised examinations. A few colleges may conduct their own exams and students wanting to get into those colleges should appear for those exams.B.Arch or Bachelor of Architecture is a 5 year under-graduate course which can be taken up after the completion of 12th with at least 50% marks. The graduates of this course are qualified to do architectural planning and constructions.
The bachelor in architecture course is designed to produce architects who can design/plan Architectural monuments and other constructions. The architectural study includes the activity of designing models of the building, preparing construction’s blueprint, and other physical structures of any land and building.
The increasing demand in the construction industry and other commercial industries can be fulfilled by professionals and experts, which anyone can become after pursuing this course. The duration of B.Arch course is 5 years like mentioned above and can only be taken up after completion of 12th or diploma. The eligibility criteria for B.Arch Admission process is: Students should have completed class 12 with a score of minimum 50% in PCM subjects, OR Students should have completed a 10+3 years diploma course in any stream from a recognised board/ university. Should clear the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) with 80% marks conducted by the Council of Architecture (CoA). In the BArch course, students learn everything from basics till successfully designing buildings or other constructional monuments.
Bachelor of Design(B.Des)
B.Des Admission is done through entrance examinations like NIFT,NID,UCEED etc.. in various government and private universities across India.
The candidates are required to visit the website of the entrance examination boards and register themselves.
After registering, they are required to fill up the application form and upload the various documents in the required format.
The candidates are required to pay their application fee and take out a receipt of the application form.
The candidates are required to download their admit card and appear for the entrance exam.
Apart from B.Des entrance exams, rounds like Personal Interview and Portfolio Presentation are some of the important B.Des admission requirements.
Minimum age limit is 20 years and 23 years for BDes admission in institutions like NID and NIFT respectively.
The admission process for BDes course starts usually from the month of October and lasts till January or latest till June.
Bachelor of Fashion Technology (B.F.Tech)
To secure admission in Bachelor in Fashion Technology candidates must qualify the eligibility criteria. The admission process takes place through entrance tests while some colleges admit candidates based on merit of qualifying examinations.
NIFT Entrance Exam is a popular test through which admission to Bachelor in Fashion Technology courses is done by the National Institute of Fashion Technology for its numerous branches across India.
- Pass in 10+ 2 Examination with 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and also at least 50% marks in aggregate of the 10 + 2 Examination or passed 10+3 Diploma Examination with Mathematics as compulsory subject with at least 50% marks in aggregate.
- Qualified in NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture).
- International Baccalaureate Diploma passed/appearing, after 10 years of Schooling.
- Diploma in civil engineering candidates can join in first year of B.Arch Programme.
- Notes: National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) is a national level undergraduate exam which is conducted by Council of Architecture (COA) for admission to 5-year B.Arch programme. Through NATA 2023, candidates can get admission into B.Arch programme offered by Government, Government-aided, Private Unaided, University Departments and Deemed Universities of the country.
